Two-piece brake disc for demanding car brake systems.

The two-piece Textar brake discs each consist of a top hat and a friction ring, which are connected by means of rivets. By using aluminium for the top hat, weight savings of 15 – 20 percent can be achieved; by doing so, the so-called unsprung mass of the brake system is reduced. Therefore, in addition to improving the driving properties, the weight-reduced composite brake disc also contributes to a reduction of emissions.

The new Textar composite brake discs are available for many BMW models. They are a perfect addition to the Textar brake pads since the ideal brake result can only be achieved with brake discs which are perfectly matched to the brake pad.

The Textar brake disc range is manufactured in strict accordance to O.E. tolerances. For this reason, the new composite brake discs are the ideal friction partner for Textar brake pads in terms of safety, comfort and service life. All Textar composite brake discs come with fixing screws included in the box.

The two-piece Textar composite brake discs are another innovative product in the Light Technology range by TMD Friction.

INNOVATION THROUGH LIGHTWEIGHT CONSTRUCTION.

CAST IRON MEETS ALUMINIUM.

With the new composite brake discs, Textar offers to the aftermarket the innovative benefits of two-piece brake discs, which are also used in the original equipment sector:

  • Optimisation of the driving properties by a reduction of the unsprung mass
  • Lowering of the fuel consumption and thus verifiable CO2 savings
  • Improved thermal conductivity leads to reduced thermal distortion and thus to minimised brake judder
  • Greater resistance to loading thanks to an optimisation of the brake dynamics

“In the past few years, we have continuously optimised our brake discs by using improved venting technologies and materials. The beneficial combination of two materials in the construction of our new composite disc is therefore a consistent step in the expansion of our comprehensive brake disc product range.” Patrick Bassiere, Product Category Manager at TMD Friction
